The flash of lightning
The crash of thunder
Rain pouring from the sky.
Chaos reigns as
Nature turns herself
Inside-out.
The threatening clouds bank up
Even higher
And the clash of colour becomes
Deafening.

And then;

It stops.
The raindrops cease their
Mad headlong downpour.
The thunder rumbles into
The distance
And silence reigns.

And then;

A frog croaks
A cricket chirps
And Nature once again
Is sane.

But how long for?
For lightning still flashes
In the distance.
